Live Cast Replay: Weird stuff in my art weaving stash

Egad! it was a technical disaster!

But I stuck with it and got my live cast on track and the glitches worked out. Well most of them…sorry about the crappy picture. So yeah last week’s Live cast had its share of glitches. I swear next week’s will be better.

In this live cast I am sharing with you some of the ways I like to think outside of the box when I looks for texture to incorporate into my art weaving.

So, as a challenge presented by my art Mastermind, I am doing some weekly live casts. This weekend I am taking a weaving class at my local weaver’s guild, so I will be back on Tuesday to share what I learned and talk about how I want to incorporate that into what I am already doing. You can set some reminders in the link below.

About UrbanGypZ

About UrbanGypZ Fiber artist Stacey Budge — you might know her as UrbanGypZ — works out of a home studio just outside Raleigh, NC, where the loom is usually warped with something interesting and there's fiber drying somewhere it shouldn't be. Her mission: to build a real community around freeform weaving and spinning — not a masterclass, a studio you belong to. She believes fiber art doesn't need gatekeeping, and that the most interesting work happens when you stop trying to do it "right" and start finding your own visual language.

I have been on a bit of a fiber art hiatus. I took a couple of years off to get my real estate license. As I have been slowly dipping my toes back into the world of fiber art, my go-to has been hand spinning. Actually, spinning has always been my go-to. It is...

Freeform Weaving Your Day to Day Inspirations

Back from our trip to Philadelphia and fresh off the art reception for a show I had a piece in, I am full of some crazy big inspirations. But, alas I had some Christmas gift deadlines to crank on. I love these kinds of live casts. It truly feels like a stitch and...
