Studio Awesome Challenge Day 16: Go to Your Room!!!!

Dec 16, 201631 Day Studio Awesome Challenge, How to think like an artist, The Business of being an artist0 comments

Confession time, y’all.

I did not spend a whole lot of time in the studio today. I had a computer glitch to investigate and some Christmas present planning that is taking over my drafting table as my mail orders arrive. But other than that I spent the day planning out my January editorial and promo calendars.

But I am kind of thinking I let myself slide today on hanging in my space because it was my Friday fun day, and it was just so nice being upstairs where it is warmer and the fireplace was going all day.

But really, I am in a little bit of clutter overwhelm as I am mid sorting of the art supplies AND Christmas gift thing. So this weekend I am going to be strong. Buckle down and spend at least a couple of hours both days purging and organizing. I mean don’t get me wrong, I now have some much needed production schedules underway, but I have committed primarily to wrangling the stuff so this very thing that happened today (avoiding my clutter) does not happen and keep me from making art. Because this is really what it is all about, fulfilling the dream of growing my work a little deeper.

My Fiber Art Journal

My Fiber Art Journal

I have been keeping an art journal since I was 18. Back then I was in art school and it was my sketchbook, a requirement for all of my art classes from day one. I resisted at first, it seemed like such a frivolous task. But, I soon realized that it was key to fleshing...
