February 2013 | The Last Big Chill

LastBigChill
So, I am trying something new for UrbanGypZ. Starting this month I’m decided to try having themes for the shop. That way I can highlight of different lines of yard that will be appearing in the shop as well as any information that might relate to that theme.

This month I chose a theme called The Last Big Chill

I know here in Asheville, February is usually the last gasp of winter. Really cold days start to give way to seductive glimpses of spring. Don’t get me wrong, our last frost date is somewhere around May 8th (technically speaking), but for the most part you will not have endless days with temps below freezing. I usually associate this time of year with quick knits. Fast projects who’s production will not outlast the cold weather. The satisfaction of knitting one last hat/cowl/scarf that you can still wear this season. Quick knits on thick needles that can be cranked out in the time it might take to watch one episode of the Bachelor {{{cough, Just saying…cough}}} Instant gratification using my South American worsted weight,  Merino 3 ply, or a nice chunky handspun art yarn.

This month updates will be all about thick quick knit yarns.

=THE NEXT UPATE=
The next update is going to be next Friday, February 15th. Sneak peak coming next week.
